Global Leadership Development is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of leadership, such that students learn general leadership skills, unleash their own leadership potential, and cultivate high-functioning and maximally-performing teams. Students will have an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of critical    leadership capabilities across different global contexts and develop insights into cross-cultural challenges and solutions in order to become a global leader in today’s society.

Take a deep dive into entrepreneurship that will build on high school students’ foundational business knowledge and push them towards entrepreneurial application in the real world. This course will prepare students for the rigors of college business study and for the career world as they apply principles and frameworks in actionable activities.

Students practice reading comprehension, writing for purpose, vocabulary development, and develop speaking and listening skills with short stories, poems, and non-fiction texts. Students will explore the themes of Individual, Familial and Social Identities and study how identity is formed through individual choices and choices impacted by our family and society. 

Learn how to successfully engage, collaborate and communicate in global virtual teams. Students will begin by reading and discussing assigned course reading on global communication, virtual collaboration, organizational communication, and writing in groups in preparation for a major cross-institutional global project.

Designed to simulate the decision-making environment in a business. Students will be presented with problems (cases and readings) that will require you to search out more information. Students will achieve this level of understanding to demonstrate the linkage between theory and practice, synthesis and extrapolation, and at choose appropriate tools, while providing analysis and communication.

Students learn to read and understand scientific research papers while reviewing emerging discoveries in topics relevant today.  Part lecture, part research, students analyze and present individual projects.

Investigate the components, tools, and practices of technology entrepreneurship: identifying new venture opportunities, evaluating the viability of a new business concept, calibrating risk of successful technology development, protecting intellectual property, building a team that possesses the attributes necessary for success, obtaining appropriate financing, writing a business plan, and developing an investor presentation, creating an entrepreneurial culture that increases the odds of success, and creating liquidity for shareholders.

Explore the methods of making change and those players that make it happen. We will identify tools to use in evaluating the potential, progress and impact of nonprofits and change by studying specific organizations and change makers throughout history. We will discuss moral and ethical questions that face non-profits, social enterprises and social entrepreneurs and explore motivation, approach and best practices as it applies to social change makers.

Environmental Leadership is a two-fold course designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of environmental science, research domestic and global environmental concerns, gain an understanding of foundational leadership knowledge and skills, and identify the characteristics of their own personal leadership style, which may develop overtime. Students will have an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of critical leadership capabilities across different environmental contexts and develop insights into cross-cultural challenges and solutions in order to become an environmental leader in today’s society.
