Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship: Mindset, Skills, Frameworks, Learning, and Growth is a deep dive into entrepreneurship that will build on high school students’ foundational business knowledge and push them towards entrepreneurial application in the real world. This course will prepare students for the rigors of college business study and for the career world as they apply principles and frameworks in actionable activities.

Entrepreneurial Mindset is essential for success in today's business landscape. Embracing risk and growth allows entrepreneurs to find opportunities while effectively meeting customer needs. Networking and collaboration play a vital role in this process. Continuous research and learning contribute to developing an entrepreneurial mindset that fosters innovation. Strong communication and persuasion skills are crucial within this framework. Utilizing proven business frameworks, such as the Lean Startup methodology, the Value Proposition Canvas, and the Business Model Canvas, can significantly enhance your strategy. Building and testing your Minimum Viable Product is a key step before deciding to pivot and manage finances effectively. Tracking metrics and implementing systems are important for scaling your business. Lastly, creating a stand-out and effective pitch deck is essential for presenting your ideas during live instruction or investor meetings.

Experience 15 hours of live instruction with a world-class professor, where you will explore essential business frameworks and develop your own pitch deck. Benefit from 1-1 support to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset as you work on your project. Students earn 2 UCSB PaCE Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion, and for top-performing students, receive a personalized Letter of Recommendation. Additionally, there will be an offer to work 1-1 to extend your project pitch deck and create and publish related research.
